In this four-week summer course, students will read Natalie Goldberg’s Writing Down the Bones and write to prompts, exercises, and meditations drawn from the book or inspired by Goldberg’s teaching. Both beginner and more experienced writers will find our discussions and generative exercises an inspiring and beneficial way to reconnect with our creative self, challenge ourselves to confront our writing anxieties, and explore new directions in our writing. In addition to their preferred writing materials, writers will need to supply their own copy of the book Writing Down the Bones and a standard-sized paper notebook for the course.
