In this class, we'll learn how to write an engaging short story or piece of flash fiction. We'll examine how to build a short form structure and improve voice, characterization, dialogue, setting, mood and more. In addition, every week we will read a published short story or flash fiction drawn from a variety of short story collections, magazines, and literary journals. These works serve as a springboard for our craft discussions, as well as give writers the opportunity to become familiar with a range of markets for publishing their own work. During our workshop, you'll share your own work and receive gentle, constructive critiques from other students and the instructor to help you improve your story..

"My writing has definitely improved from the first week. Finally learned to write a story from beginning to end with suspense. Loved the variety of short stories we were introduced to."
"Christina Kapp respected my writing and was gentle but purposeful in her critique and I am a better writer now for that experience."
